A
drive of 265 yards will reach the first fairway bunker on the left. A drive of
310 yards would carry the second bunker on the left and would give the player
the best angle to this green from less than 140 yards. A drive into the right
rough may kick back into the fairway, but if the rough is thick (which it
usually is) it will leave you with a difficult lie with the ball well above
your feet. The green sits slightly downhill from the fairway but does not play
downhill. The putting green is on the shore of Lake Manassas, only a few yards
from the water. You don’t want to go left with your approach shot as the only
protection from the water is a very narrow bunker.
