This
hole can be played as a short two-shot hole (dogleg left) or a reachable par 4
from the forward tees. From the back tee, a fairway bunker guards the dogleg on
the left. A lay-up off the tee of 240 yards would stay short of the fairway
bunker with a wider landing area, leaving the player with an approach shot of
about 140 yards. To drive the ball over the bunker from the back tee would
require a drive of 280 yards. At the bunker, the fairway is only 18 yards wide
(255 yards from the back tee). Past the bunker, the fairway sweeps left and
widens to 50 yards from 280 yards to 300 yards, leaving a pitch of less than
100 yards. The putting green has two distinctive tiers. The shallow upper tier
in the back of the green is very difficult to access with a short iron or
wedge. |
